The Song of Roland, A Musical Mural
What happens when you mix a spirited opera, medieval legends, elegant murals and more than 400 Evanston children? A gala event and presentation at Oakton School. Students and faculty of The Musical Offering of Evanston under the direction of Mr. Rick Ferguson, Original Libretto and Music by Mr. James Falzone, special guest artists Soprano Amy Conn and Tenor Hayden Muhl, D.R.U.M. ensemble and Oakton School chorus under the direction of Ms. Monica Blacconeri, a dramatic chorus of Lords and Ladies under the drama direction of Ms. Lillian Sadok, Ms. Tina Pappademos and Ms. Shelby Jennings, Art Direction By Mr. Tom Ferguson, and the Evanston Children’s Choir under the direction of Mr. Gary Geiger, presented The Song of Roland, a musical mural under the recently restored WPA murals by Carl Scheffler. This event was made possible
by the generosity of the Evanston Community Foundation, the talents and cooperation of the Oakton School faculty and staff, and the Evanston Children’s Choir, Mr. Churchill Daniels, Oakton School Principal, the Oakton School PTA and the entire Oakton School Community. An outstanding performance was enjoyed by all.
