Bell Times
6222010_41429_0.jpgAttending school every day, arriving on time, and being prepared to learn are important to a successful school experience.
Staff Supervision at the playgrounds begins at 8:50. Please try to have your children arrive at school by 8:55 so that they are ready to line up by class before the bell rings at 9:00. Teachers accompany their students into the building. Please do not drop off your children before 8:50; however, you are welcome to come earlier if you stay with them. School starts promptly at 9:05 and ends at 3:35.

All Kindergarten and 1st grade students, as well as ACC 2nd grade students, are dropped off in the Kindergarten courtyard.  Gen Ed and TWI students in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades are released from door number 3 (blue double doors at the top of a set of steps fracing Austin Street).  ACC students in Kindergarten,1st, and 2nd grades are released from Door Number 6 (double brown doors with a slanted roof, facing Austin Street next to the parking lot).

Gen Ed and TWI students in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades, and ACC students in 3rd and 4th grades, enter through Door Number 8 (double doors facing west, located near the main playground). All students in 3rd and 4th grades are released from this door.

During Inclement weather, students will line up inside the building.

Driving Safely Near School:  For the Safety of our students, the one-block stretch of Austin Street bordering the school becomes one way westbound at the drop-off and pick-up times.  Other safety measures are that there is always no left turn onto Austin from nothbound Ridge. Also, one cannot drive across Ridge on Austin from the east to get to the school; it is always right turn only (going north) at this intersection. So the only street access onto westbound Austin is from southbound Ridge.

It is illegal to turn into the school's small handicapped parking area on Ridge during drop-off and pick-up times. There is a sign posted that prohibits use of the parking area at these times.

If your children walk to school, please discourage them from crossing Oakton at Barton because there is no crossing guard and no traffic light.  They should cross at Oakton and Ridge or Oakton and Asbury.
